Training procedure and Duration of MNS cadets:
All the female candidates who have done their 12th with biology are eligible to apply for this post. the selected candidate will go for further training at these 6 Military nurses training college for the 4 years.
- Armed Forces Medical College, Pune
- Command Hospital (Eastern Command) Kolkata
- Indian Navy Hospital (INHS) Asvini, Mumbai
- Army Hospital Research and Referral New Delhi
- Command Hospital (Central Command) Lucknow
- Command Hospital (Air Force) Bangalore
All the selected female candidates will be trained here for years and at last, they will get a Degree of BSc nursing from these training colleges. On the successful completion of the courses, The Candidates will be posted on the rank of Lieutenant in the Indian Army.
The candidate will also get a fixed Stipend of 17000/- every month during the training. after the training, they have to sign the bond with the Indian army. the candidates can join it as a permanent commission or as Short Service Commission as per their Choice.
Uniform of MNS Cadets:
The Dresses of the MNS cadets are a bit different in nature, they do not wear Olive green dresses or Combat dresses. They also do not take part in any operational duties. The Dresses would be pretty much similar to the doctors. But In short, They are nurses in a different uniform.
But the ranks and insignia are same. Right after the training, the Nurses are posted on the rank of Lieutenant in the Indian Army as Nurse. Your Duty and love for the nation matter a lot than the uniforms or dresses.

How to Join Army as Military Nurses:
To join the Indian Army as a Military, one must match the following eligibility to apply for this:
- Female candidates who are unmarried/divorced/legally separated/ widow without encumbrances are eligible to apply for this.
- Only Indian Citizen is eligible to apply for this.
- Candidates must have passed in the first attempt, Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or equivalent (12 Years schooling) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology.
- The candidate must have at least 50% in English.
- The Age limit: the age of the candidate must be Between 01 Oct 1995 to 30 Sep 2003 (both days inclusive).
The selection process of Military Nurses in Indian Army:
The Selection Process of the Indian Military Nurses is similar to other entries in the Indian Armed forces. The selection of the candidates will be done in three phases:
- Computer-based Test (CBT) online test
- Personal Interview (PI)
- Medical test etc
The candidate will appear for the Computer-based online test and only qualified candidates will appear for the Interview. The Shortlisting of the candidates will be done on the basis of marks scored in the Computer-based online test. The qualified candidates in the Interview will proceed for the Medical Tests.
