There are many more direct entries in the Indian army but all of those are Technical entries. To be the front line soldiers or front line officer there is no such direct entry except NCC special entry. There are two types of entry schemes for the candidates who have done NCC and have a ‘C’ certificate. let’s see the types of NCC and its eligibility etc.
Types of NCC (National Cadet Corps):
There are two types of NCC programs in India for the candidates as NCC Junior division and NCC Senior Division.
NCC Junior division: The candidate can join the Junior division in the class 9th to 12th. These NCC are conducted by the Sainik Schools and some schools also. The time duration of the Junior division is 2 years. a candidate can apply for the NCC Special Entry after the 12th.
NCC Senior Division: This is NCC Senior, A candidate can join this while doing the graduation, this NCC would be for the 3 years. A candidate can apply for this after graduation. Now Let’s see the eligibility Criteria of NCC to apply for the NCC Direct Entry.

NCC Entry Eligibility:
Here we will discuss the NCC 48th vacancy 2020 for the Indian Army. Indian Army has recently released the vacancy for the candidate who has done the NCC and has B or C Certificate:
- Only unmarried candidates are eligible to apply for this.
- A candidate must have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks from any recognized University/Institute.
- A candidate must have NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate with a minimum ‘B’ Grade.

Age Limit for NCC Entry:
As I said above only graduated are eligible to apply for this post. The age of the candidate is similar to the CDS entry and other entries which is after the graduation:
- The age of the candidate must between the 19 years old to 25 years old.
- There is no special relaxation has been given to any particular category.
- The age limit is the same for all.
How to apply for NCC special entry:
- Applications will only be accepted online on the website http://www.joinindianarmy.nic.in
- Click on ‘Officer Entry Apply/Login’ and then click
- ‘Registration’ (Registrations not required if already registered on http://www.joinindianarmy.nic.in)
- Fill the online registration form after reading the instructions carefully. After getting registered, click on ‘Apply Online’ under the Dashboard.
- A page ‘Officers Selection – ‘Eligibility’ will open. Then click ‘Apply’ shown against Short Service Commission NCC Special Entry Course.
- A page ‘Application Form’ will open. Read the instructions carefully and click ‘Continue’ to fill details as required under various segments. Personal information, Communication details, Education details and details of previous SSB. ‘Save & Continue’ each time before you go to the next segment. After filling details on the last segment.
- You will move to a page ‘Summary of your information’ wherein you can check and edit the entries already made. Only after ascertaining the correctness of all your details, click on ‘Submit Now’.
- Candidates must click on ‘Submit Now’ each time they open the application for editing any details. The candidates are required to take out two copies of their application having Roll Number, 30 minutes after final closure of online application on the last day.
Vacancy: There is a total of 50 seats are available for the NCC special entries and in which the 5 seats are reserved for the wards of battle casualties of Army personnel only.
The candidate will appear for the SSB Interview and after clearing this interview, They will be considered for the next phases. Prepare for the SSB Interview in a better manner.
