PPDT stands for Picture Perception and Discussion Test, whereas TAT means Thematic Apperception Test. As the names suggest, these are two different tests where candidates are required to write a story based on pictures for PPDT and TAT shown to them. PPDT has only one picture and that is quite hazy, blurred, confused, muzzy, fuzzy, and shadowy. PPDT picture stories require action. Candidates are required to identify the number of characters, their mood, and age.
On the other hand, TAT has around 11 pictures that are usually blank pictures. Candidates have to write the story only. According to the survey, it has been identified that many candidates ask for sample pictures for PPDT and TAT.
