UPSC CDS II Answer Key 2018 will be released via MKC Website for all sets after the examination which is going to be conducted online on 18th November 2018. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will be conducted the written examination of Common Defence Service Examination (II), 2018 on 18th November 2018 at 41 different exam centers all over the Country.

The Combined Defence Services Exam is a national level competitive exam which is conducted two times every year for graduate candidates to get into defense services – Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA) & Officers’ Training Academy (OTA). Generally, CDS-I exam is conducted in the month of February & CDS-II is conducted in the month of November by UPSC.

CDS-II 2018 Exam Pattern

The subjects of the written examination, the time allowed and the maximum marks allotted to each subject will be as follows:

1. a) For IMA, INA & AFA:

CDS-1 2018 Marking Pattern

CDS Examination assigned 100 marks to each paper. There is 120 question in English and in GK paper for which 0.83 marks is provided for every right answer and 0.27 is deducted for every wrong answer. There is no marks deducted for unanswered questions. In Maths paper there are 100 questions in which 1 marks is given for every right answer and 0.33 marks is deducted for every wrong answer.

CDS-1 2018 Negative marking

This examination has got 1/3 negative marking on every wrong answer.

So candidates as it is briefed that there is negative marking of 1/3 so it is very important to attempt only those questions for which they are confident. If you are not confident please do not attempt because it can lower down your chances for clearing written examination.

How to calculate marks using the Answer Key?

The marks will be calculated as per the marking scheme given below:

• Each question will be of 01 mark.
• There will be a negative marking of 0.33 marks. So, while cross-checking, if any answer is incorrect then deduct 1/4th marks assigned to that question.
• If more than two answers are marks, this will also be considered as incorrect even if one of them happens to be correct. Deduct 0.33 marks in such case.
• If a question is left blank, no marks will be added or deducted in that case.
