Unmarried male and female LAW GRADUATES are encouraged to apply for a Short Service Commission in the Indian Army’s Judge Advocate General Branch. An officer is on probation for six months from the moment he or she earns his or her commission. If he/she is reported as inappropriate to keep his/her commission during the probationary period, his/her services may be terminated at any time, whether before or after the probationary period expires.

The submission of online applications will start from 18th January 2023 onwards and the last date to apply online is 16th February 2023.

A total of 06 vacancies are released for Men while 03 are released for female candidates.
JAG 31 Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
A candidate must be either: I a citizen of India, (ii) a subject of Nepal, or (iii) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia, with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (iii) and (iii) above is a person in whose favour Candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal, on the other hand, would not need a certificate of eligibility.
Age Limit
21 to 27 years as of 01 Jul 2023 (Born not earlier than 02 Jul 1996 and not later than 01 Jul 2002; both dates inclusive).
Educational Qualification
A minimum of 55% in their LLB Degree (three years professional after graduating or five years after 10+2) test. Furthermore, all applicants (including LLM-qualified and LLM-appearing candidates) who apply for courses beginning in a certain year must have a CLAT PG score from the previous year. Candidates must be eligible to register as advocates with the Bar Council of India/State. The candidate must have graduated from a college or university approved by the Bar Council of India.

How to Apply Online for JAG 31 entry?
- Step 1: Go to the official website’s JAG 31 registration page.
- Step 2: If they are new users, they must register or log in with their current credentials.
- Step 3: If you’re a first-time visitor, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the Registration button.
- Step 4: Once on the registration page, the applicant must read all of the instructions before clicking the proceed button. Following this, the registration page will appear, where the applicant must input all of the requested information, including Aadhaar Number, Candidate’s Name, Parent’s Name, Date of Birth, Email Id, and Mobile Number, before clicking the Submit button and continuing.
- Step 5: Next, candidates must click the Apply Online option and complete the JAG 31 application form with all required information such as Board of Class 10th, Highest Qualification, Enrolment Number, and so forth.
- Step 6: Finally, applicants must check the I agree to checkbox at the bottom of the page and click the final save button.
- Step 7: Download and print the completed application for future reference and documentation.
