UPSC NDA exam is conducted twice a year to train candidates for joining the Indian Armed Forces. The National Defence Academy has strict instructions regarding the eligibility criteria. NDA Eligibility Criteria 2023

NDA Eligibility criteria include the age limit, educational qualifications, nationality, marital status, NDA Height & weight standards, chest standards and many more. But the most important among the above factors is the NDA age limit because we can work on our physical and medical fitness but we can not go back in time once we exceed the NDA age limit.

Nationality

The candidate applying for the exam must be either:

A Citizen of India
A Subject of Nepal or
A subject of Bhutan, or,
Tibetan refugees who came to India before 1 Jan. 1962, with the intention of permanent settlement.
A person of Indian origin who migrated from the following countries with the intention of permanent settlement:
- Pakistan, Sri Lanka
- East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire & Ethiopia, Vietnam.

Educational Qualification

Posts	Required Educational Criteria
Army Wing	Pass certificate of class 12th via recognized board or a University.
Air Force and Naval Wings	Pass certificate of class 12th via recognized board or a University with Physics and Mathematics.
10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy	Pass certificate of class 12th via recognized board or a University with Physics and Mathematics.

NDA Age Limit 2023

The UPSC NDA has determined a fixed age limit for its applicants. The NDA age limit is 16.5 years to 19.5 years but while filling the NDA online application forms the candidates must not be more than 18.5 years. The reason is that the complete NDA selection process comprises three different stages – NDA written examination, NDA SSB Interview and the NDA Medical Examination.
