The Indian Air Force Group X/Y exam is to be conducted via IAF Agniveer Recruitment Entry Scheme. But it is necessary to note that the rest of the selection process is kept the same. The candidates who have applied for the Agniveer Recruitment 2022 and have appeared for the Airforce Agniveer exam must have knowledge of the further selection process.

Indian Airforce Agniveer Selection Process 2022

Now we will be discussing the Agniveer Airforce selection process with all the necessary details. You will also get to know the best preparation strategy for the same in this article.

Phase – I

Online Test

The online test is the first step in Phase 1 of the Agniveer Airforce selection process. For this, the candidates who have filled the online application form and are Eligible are sent provisional admit cards for Phase – I of testing on their registered e-mail IDs.

The admit card is released 3 to 4 days prior to the examination. The candidates have to download & take a colour printout. So that they can carry the same to the examination centre on the day of the online test.

However, the name of the city & exam date was intimated to candidates well in advance to enable the candidates to plan their movement.

This provisional admit card for stage 1 can also be downloaded by the candidate under the candidate’s login on the CASB web portal @agnipathvayu.cdac.in. All candidates in possession of provisional admit cards will undertake Online Test at centres mentioned on their admit cards.

Points to be Noted:
  • For phase 1 the online test will be MCQs in both Hindi & English except for English
  • The online test will be objective type and questions will be bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English paper.

Now Let’s Discuss the further details of the Phase 1 Examination.

(a) Science Subjects: So, the total duration of the online test shall be 60 minutes and shall comprise English, Physics and Mathematics as per the 10+2 CBSE syllabus.

(b) Other Than Science Subjects: Also, the total duration of the online test shall be 45 minutes and shall comprise English as per the 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).

(c) Science Subjects & Other Than Science Subjects: Hence, the total duration of the online test shall be 85 minutes and shall comprise English, Physics and Mathematics as per the 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).

(d) Now comes the Marking pattern for online test:-
(i) One mark for every correct answer.
(ii) No marks for unattempted questions.
(iii) 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Although, the result of Phase-I and the list of shortlisted candidates for Phase II, based on their performance in the Phase-I Online test, will be uploaded to @agnipathvayu.cdac.in within one month from the date of the online exam.

Phase – II

Soon after the declaration of the result of the Phase-I (Online) Test, a cut-off will be applied based on the marks scored by the candidates in the Phase I Test and Shortlisted candidates will be sent a New admit card on their registered e-mail IDs for phase – II test at a designated ASC.

Also, this admit card for the Phase-II exam can also be downloaded online under the candidate’s login on the CASB web portal https://agnipathvayu.cdac.in.

Documents Required during Phase 2

(a) Colour printout of admit card for Phase-II.
(b) Colour printout of application form downloaded after registration
(c) Eight copies of passport-size colour photographs (same as used during the online registration).
(d) Original and four self-attested photocopies of matriculation passing certificate (required for verification of candidate’s name, father’s name and his date of birth).
(e) Original and four self-attested photocopies of the 10th marks sheet
(f) Original and four self-attested photocopies of Intermediate/10+2/equivalent examination passing certificate and marks sheet.
OR
Original and four self-attested photocopies of three years diploma course passing certificate and marks sheets of all semesters.
OR
Original and four self-attested photocopies of two years vocational course passing certificate and all marks sheets including a non-vocational course with subjects English, Physics and Mathematics.

(g) Original Phase-I admit card used during Phase-I test bearing Air Force seal and invigilator’s signature.

(h) Original and four self-attested photocopies of NCC ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate (if applicable).

Verification of Eligibility

Also, before the commencement of Phase 2, the documents will be verified to ascertain the eligibility prima-facie.
Hence, the candidates will not be permitted to appear in Phase II of the selection test without original educational marks sheets/passing certificates & documents mentioned above.

In exceptional circumstances, DigiLocker verified certificates will be accepted and candidates issued with CSV (certificate subject to verification). Candidates are thereafter required to submit original certificates to the nearest ASC within one month from the date of issue of CSV.

Note-3: Moreover, the original passing certificates/marks sheets shall not be retained by the selection centre. The same shall be returned to the candidates on completion of detailed verification.

Note-4: Internet copies of mark-sheet are not acceptable

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

Moreover, the names of the shortlisted candidates, who qualify for the online test, shall be displayed on the CASB Web Portal https://agnipathvayu.cdac.in to call for the Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

The PFT would consist of:

  •  1.6 Km run to be completed within 06 minutes 30 seconds.
  • 10 Push-ups,
  • 10 Sit-ups and
  • 20 Squats

Note: Candidates are advised to bring their sports shoes and shorts/track pants.

Adaptability Test- I

Firstly, all candidates who pass the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) shall have to undertake Adaptability Test-I (objective type written test) which is to assess the suitability of a candidate for employment in the IAF which involves deployment in varied geographic terrain, and weather and operational conditions.

Adaptability Test- II

Secondly, all candidates who pass Adaptability Test-I shall have to undertake Adaptability Test-II as per policy in vogue. Also, Adaptability Test-II is to select candidates who can adapt to the environment of the Indian Air Force and are able to adjust to the military way of life.

Phase – III

Medical Examination

Although, candidates who qualify for Adaptability Test-II shall be issued with a medical appointment letter at their respective ASCs for their medical examination at the designated Medical Boarding Centre (MBC) on the specified date.

Therefore, the medical examination shall be conducted by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards and policy in vogue on the subject issue. Medical examination would also include Baseline Investigation of:-

(a) Blood Haemogram – Hb, TLC, DLC

(b) Urine RE/ME
(c) Biochemistry
(i) Blood Sugar Fasting & PP
(ii) Serum Cholesterol
(iii) Urea, Uric acid, Creatinine
(iv) LFT- Serum Bilurubin, SGOT, SGPT
(d) X-Ray chest (PA view)
(e) ECG (R)
(f) Tests for Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Abuse.
(g) Any other test necessary in the opinion of the Medical Officer.

Also, the candidates declared medically unfit can avail of the option for ‘Appeal Medical Board’ (AMB) against their unfitness by depositing Rs. 40/- in a Government Treasury/RBI/SBI through Military Receivable Order (MRO).

The application for AMB along with the original copy of MRO and photocopy of the Unfitness Certificate are to be submitted to the representative of ASC within three working days of medical examination.
