Indian Navy AA/SSR Phase-2 Selection Process

About Indian Navy AA/SSR and Airforce X and Y Group Vacancy:

Navy: Indian Navy mostly recruits candidates of Technical background only. But although being a student of technical stream many other criteria differentiate these candidates. The same applied for Navy’s sailor recruitment too. Indian Navy invites application for sailors in two categories, termed Navy AA and Navy SSR. The Selection procedure and the required eligibility Criteria almost similar.

Airforce: Indian Air force selects the candidates for the X group (Technical) and Y group (Non- technical) etc. The selection os X and Y Group are completely similar. The Selection is done on the basis of the Written Exam, PFT and Medical Examination etc.

Training Procedure:

Navy AA/SSR: AA Selected candidates will undergo Nine weeks of Basic Training at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade at various Naval Training Establishments. Branch/ Trade will be allocated as per the requirement of Service.

Difference Between AA and SSR in Navy in Work Profile and Salary

SSR Candidates selected will undergo 22 weeks of Basic Training at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade in various Naval Training Establishments. Branch/ Trade will be allocated as per the requirement of Service. While on the training, Candidates will receive some amount as Stipend.

Airforce: All the selection candidates of Airforce X and Y Group will get trained for 6 months at the Airmen Training Academy. While the training, The Airforce cadets will be recieve an Stipend of 14,500/- per month.

Work Environment:

The Work Environment are pretty much similar in both the respected forces. The job specification of an artificer (as per specialization) includes working on steam-powered machinery, diesel and gas turbines, guided missiles and other automatically controlled weapons, sensors avionic equipment, computers and highly advanced radio and electrical power systems.

The work is divided amongst different teams that do different kinds of jobs. It could be operations of various equipment such as radars, sonars or communications or firing of weapons such as missiles, guns or rockets etc.

Salary and Allowances:

The Salary and Allowances are also pretty much similar, While the Indian Navy Pays a bit more than the Indian Air force. But Indian Airforce offers job at ground while the navy offers at ship.

The salary of each department is different but the basic pay structure is the same for all. While they are on training get paid, that salary they get as a stipend which is about 14000/-.per month or even more and after the completion of the training when you will get posted. Your salary would be around 21000/- but this is just a clear salary, there are some pays also like:-

• Basic service pay – 21000/- INR
• Military service pay – 5200/- INR
• X group will get Technical Service Pay- 6200/- INR

The total salary which one will get in hand is around 35000/- to 40000/-. The salary of the airmen also depends on the types of training they have taken and the area of work and area of posting, etc.
