Before the year 2021, only boys used to fill the form and give the exam in this exam, but breaking the 65-year-old tradition, the Supreme Court in August 2021 rejected the government’s claim that the training of female cadets in Pune-based NDA Ban was a policy option, while issuing an interim order allowing them to appear for the exam in November.
From August 2021 till now, 3 NDA exams have been conducted and till now there were 19 vacancies for female candidates in each exam. In the vacancy of NDA 2/2023, the seats for girls have increased from 19 to a total of 35.
