Indian Air Force X & Y Group Exam Cut off & Qualifying Marks – Indian Air Force has conducted online examination for the recruitment of Air men in X & Y Group on 3rd/4th/5th & 6th May 2018. Recruitment notification was released by IAF for the Group „X‟ Trades (except Education Instructor Trade) and Group „Y‟ {Except Automobile Technician, GTI, IAF (P), IAF(S) and Musician} Trades.

Examinations are over and candidates are waiting for the results. As the official cut off is not disclosed by IAF SO it is very tough to predict the actual cut off and qualifying marks. Yet on the basis of trends of previous year examinations and feedback by the candidates we can have rough estimate. To secure their success in the written exam and to qualify in all the sections separately one need to score around 60% to 70% marks.

Important Instructions for Phase-II Testing-
  • The result of Phase-I will be uploaded on www.airmenselection.cdac.in within 15 days from the date of online exams.
  • Soon after the declaration of the result of Phase-I test, all candidates shortlisted for Phase II will be sent a new admit card on their registered e-mail ID for phase – II test at an Airmen Selection Centre.
  • Candidates have to report at the stipulated date and time for phase – II at the designated Airmen Selection Centre along with the documents mentioned in admit card.
IAF X & Y Group PFT Standards

Candidates who pass Online Test and are shortlisted as per merit which will be displayed on the CASB Web Portal www.airmenselection.cdac.in on a stipulated date will be called at designated Airmen Selection Centre for Physical Fitness Test (PFT) which would consist of-

  • 1.6 km run to be completed within 06 minutes and 30 seconds.
  • 10 push-ups,
  • 10 sit-ups and
  • 20 squats within the stipulated time
Adaptability Test-1 (For both Group ‘ X’ & Group ‘Y’ Trades)

All candidates who pass the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) will have to undertake Adaptability Test-1 (objective type written test) which is to assess suitability of a candidate for employment in the IAF which involves deployment in varied geographic terrain, weather and operational conditions.

Adaptability Test-2 (For both Group ‘ X’ & Group ‘Y’ Trades).

All candidates who pass Adaptability Test -1 will have to undertake Adaptability Test-2 as per policy in vogue. Adaptability Test-2 is to select candidates who can adapt to the environment of Indian Air Force and are able to adjust to the military way of life.

Medical Examination

Candidates who qualify Adaptability Test-2 will be issued with medical appointment letter at respective ASCs. It can also be downloaded under candidates login on CASB web portal www.airmenselection.cdac.in for their medical examination at designated Medical Board Centre (MBC) on specified date. Medical Examination will be conducted by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards and policy in vogue on subject issue.

Provisional Select List (PSL)

The PSL will be prepared after the completion of selection test and the same will be displayed at all the airmen selection centres (ascs) and websites www.airmenselection.cdac.in and www.careerindianairforce.cdac.in on 31 October 2018. Inclusion of names of candidates in the PSL depends upon the performance of the candidates in the exam and also subject to medical fitness. Inclusion of name in provisional select list (PSL) does not guarantee automatic enrolment. Enrolment is strictly in order of merit subject to medical fitness, availability of vacancies, not exceeding the age of 21 years on date of enrolment and meeting all the laid down eligibility criteria as and when called for enrolment. The validity of the PSL will be 06 months from the date of display and will be applicable only for intake/entry 01/2019

Enrollment List

List of candidates finally called for enrolment in intake 01/2019 will be published on 10 December 2018. Separate call letter will be sent to the candidates called for enrolment.
